Birth of The Blue Rose

The Blue Rose is rare and unique in its existence.  In some cultures, the Blue Rose,

represents wishes coming true, longing and the unattainable but for

Erica Simpson and Regina Weathersby it represents peace, healing, fertility and new life.

Blue is the color that represents maternal health, while rose represents fertility and

honors the name of Erica's child, Marli Rose Simpson.

Erica Simpson’s journey to motherhood was very trying

in every aspect. Here’s her story…. "I delivered Marli “Rose” Simpson 5 days after my 40th

birthday, after struggling with infertility for many years. She was born at 30 weeks and spent 5

weeks in the hospital. This journey included several rounds of unsuccessful fertility treatments.

After bringing Marli Rose home, I began to spiral out of control. Thankfully, due to my training

as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I was able to quickly identify the postpartum signs of

depression and reached out to my primary care provider for assistance. With the support of my

husband, family and close friends, which included Regina Weathersby, I was able to move to a

place of healing. This journey was filled with many feelings and emotions. While continuing to

navigate this journey of motherhood and healing, I asked God to show me my purpose, which

led me to wanting to establish a platform for helping other women with similar situations."

While reflecting on her journey, Erica realized there were many services that were

either not available or not offered to her that could have benefited both she and her husband.

Knowing that her close friend also had her own unique story around maternal health,

she shared her vision, and The Blue Rose Foundation was born.

Our Mission
